Hello from Latch World!

I am Carla Rodrigues, a Registered Midwife, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and a Tongue Tie Practitioner originally from Portugal.

I qualified as a nurse in Portugal in 2004 and since then have been working with mothers and their babies.

I qualified as a midwife in 2010 in Republic of Ireland and since 2011 have been working in UK (NHS and privately).

Because I am so passionate about breastfeeding decided to continue to develop my skills and qualified as a Lactation Consultant in 2015.

In 2018 I qualified as a Tongue Tie Practitioner in Southampton, England.

In 2019 I trained to become a Mindful Breastfeeding Practitioner.

I am a parent of three children. My oldest little one was a premature baby and had some feeding difficulties. She then ended up breastfeeding exclusively and weaned up naturally at 3 years old. My second child breastfed until 2 years old. My third baby was tongue-tied and I had a very difficult start on my breastfeeding journey.

I love to help other parents in this amazing journey, that is not always easy, and would like to continue to help and support you and your family to achieve your goals regarding feeding.

I am based in Fife and could meet you at my clinical space (in Dunfermline) or in the comfort of your home, if you prefer. I am willing to travel within a reasonable distance, that can be agreed when booking a consultation.
